The proverbs 31 woman conference is a conference for women who stand firmly in the word of God come to discuss, empower and inspired other women. The Proverbs 31 woman conference just recently held in Covenant University and it was amazing.
At the conference, we had 4 speakers, although I wasn’t able to hear Karen Ubani speak and Tofunmi Onaolapo speak I heard they were awesome too!
Eseoghene Odiete-Ehikhuemelo: She is an award winning fashion entrepreneur. She is funny, down to earth and nice! She won the 2014 british council enterprise challenge. She is a daughter of zion who is proud of her heavenly father.
Here’s a summary of what I learnt from Ese:
Show God you’re committed to what you’re doing if not he would raise other people to do it.
Always involve the holyspirit.
Life is all about God.
For you to be relevant you have to keep growing up (developing yourself).
Follow your passion.
Treat people well you really don’t know where you’d meet them tomorrow.
As a christian you should pray for the gift of a discerning spirit and keep talking to the holyspirit at all times.
Always have a friend(s) that you can pray with. (together)
Speak into each-others life.
on fashion/social media/business:
Fashion is branding
Make use of social media: By asking your friends to repost/tag you in your products.
Identify your weakness and get other people that your weaknesses are their strengths. e.g. marketing online
Miss Ibukun Awosika: Ibukun is an alumni of Covenant University ,there were 2 Ibukun Awosika’s at the conference, Miss Ibukun Awosika is the young lady who is the CEO of fiber rose.
Here is a summary of what I learnt from Ibukun:
Passion is what makes a business grow
It is necessary to know why you’re in the business.
Personal savings are a way you could fund your business.
Somewhere along your journey of life, you would have invested your time into what you’re passionate about. ( just incase you can’t seem to find a passion, look back)
Mrs Ibukun Awosika: Prior to the event I hadn’t really heard much about Mrs Awosika but had seen many times on my Instagram feed that many entrepreneurs like TY Bello, Tope FnR look up to her and hold her in high regards so I was looking forward to hearing her speak, so I attended the conference with an open-mind.
Here’s a summary of what I learnt from Mrs Ibukun:
Know your God.
Walk in the consciousness of how big your God is.
The fear of God is not religiosity.
The man you would eventually say yes to, make sure you can trust him with your life.
Saying ‘Yes’ to a man shouldn’t be an emotional decision all factors ‘must’ be considered.
Except you have a sense of you; you really cant determine who the right person is.
Live life to the fullest meaning do all you can do to the best of your ability.
Maximize your time to the fullest and you need courage and boldness to do that.
Never let anyone make you feel less than you are because of your age or gender.
Anyone can say/think what they like, none of this should matter to you.
The world is your playing field; you can be anything you want to be.
Little things lead to big things
There is a language for business, you can’t speak to your board members like you would to your mate.
Not all personal interests are economically viable.
Make use of the SWOT analysis to consider which business idea works best.
Whatever your hands find to do, do it well.
Have pre-determined values in your business.
Be confident with who you are and what you do.
All your university education does for you is it opens your mind, expands your scope and allows you process information faster.
Never let your degree define or limit you
I was definitely inspired and I am sure for those who couldn’t attend the event, my blog post helped you learn alot! What are your thoughts on this and what was your favorite thing you learnt so far from my summary? I would love to read your answers.
