‘It’s not about how you start but how you finish’
what does it take to finish strong?
You must make a move (in 2017) for something you want next year (2018).
Life unlike school where the end of a semester year means literally the close of a chapter, IRL (in real life) it really is just continuity with high expectations or continuity on a greater level (You may get a promotion, change your job, start a new school etc).
To finish 2017 strong, you and I must make a move for something we want to achieve next year.
For the last 2 days I have made some concrete moves:
- I placed a call to a lecturer at institut d’france to make inquiries about learning French
- I am 85% done with my personal statement for a university I am applying to
- I am writing a blog post (what you are reading now)
These actions that I carried out in 2017 have the power to ensure I achieve some of the goals I have written for 2018. We are all guilty of writing ‘new year resolutions’ just to find out at the end of the year you hardly even followed your list. For this coming year, it will be nice if you can do things a bit differently. It’s a few hours to 2018, what can you do NOW that can influence you achieving that written goal in 2018?
Ending the year strong ONLY means entering the new year stronger.
Writers note: 2017 was a tough year for some while for others it was nothing less of awesome. If you don’t think there’s anything to be grateful for, you are alive (that’s one thing). If life right now makes no sense what so ever, please be patient. Don’t be quick to throw in the towel. I hope 2018 favors you, I hope you are motivated to work even harder and Lastly I hope you find Love because Love is God & God is Love.
Congratulations, you made it.
