The Lagos tourist and my Arik experience
..on my way to Lagos from school in Ogun state. I all of a sudden came to appreciate the beauty in my surroundings. I channeled this by taking pictures with my iPod.
Every picture I took has a story to tell, from the under-aged children hawking, to the kissed bumpers, to the crowd of people starring at the police man harassing a civilian.
How can things look so good on side but so bad on the other?
By this time I had already reached the island…
The next day, on my way to the airport I still got beautiful shots.
9:55am I arrived the airport in my Uber car ride and I am greeted with a man shouting “African queen”. I pay the Uber driver as I step down one of these airport guys offers to carry my bag… who am I to refuse lol? Anyways he later tried to ask me for money but wasn’t that his job?
Use my Uber code for a free ride: SOLAF29UE
So I spent my last money on this Havard business review magazine, maybe it was a smart or not so smart idea, cause I was later stranded just 400 naira and I hadn’t eaten that day.
So I stopped at this restaurant to get meat pie..
Don’t be deceived the meat pie was actually so empty and didn’t taste as good as it looked…
12:52 we were eventually called to board the flight….
we entered the airport bus service. I was so happy because alas we are finally going to fly and I can get to eat some little food on the plane but I heard a man shout “they are not going to Abuja , take them back”.
12:59 After our merry-go round bus ride we arrived back at square one, people asked with confusion about the impending situation. I and a lady who heard the man told our fellow passengers what he had said. Some passengers reacted to the official asking them to get back into the airport by refusing to come down from the bus after the doors had been opened.
By 2 or so we finally were asked to board the flight
I finally arrived Abuja…
There were so many children on the road begging for free car rides under the scorching sun…
I had an amazing journey and the best part of it was being able to see my twin brother and our cousins..Feels so good to be back in Abuja ( :
